What is the HSN Code List?
‘Harmonized System for Nomenclature’ is the full form of HSN. HSN was introduced in India for the organized categorization of all goods and services. HSN Code is a six-digit uniform identification of over five thousand goods in India. HSN codes of eight digits are compulsory for the products of export and imports.

What are the GST Tax regime and its turnover?
How much turn over for HSN code list details : HSN (Harmonised System of Nomenclature) code shall be used for classifying the goods under the GST regime. Taxpayers whose turnover is above Rs. 1.5 crores but below Rs. 5 crores shall use 2-digit code and the taxpayers whose turnover is Rs. 5 crores and above shall use 4-digit code. Taxpayers whose turnover is below Rs. 1.5 crores are not required to mention HSN Code in their invoices. Services will be classified as per the Services Accounting

Who will fix GST rates?
The CGST and SGST would be levied at rates to be jointly decided by the Centre and States. The rates would be notified on the recommendations of the GST Council.

The gross GST revenue collected in December 2021 is Rs 1,29,780 crore of which CGST is Rs 22,578 crore, SGST is Rs 28,658 crore, IGST is Rs 69,155 crore (including Rs 37,527 crore collected on import of goods) and cess is Rs 9,389 crore (including Rs 614 crore collected on import of goods).

What is the classification of the HSN Code?
In the 8 HSN digits, the first two digits indicate the Chapter and the next four digits are indicating the headings and next six digits are indicating the subheading and finally the eight digits are indicating the Tariff for the product.
