The following comprises a listing of the 2023 Central Government Gazetted Holidays, organized according to the month of their occurrence. Republic Day, scheduled to occur on Thursday the 26th, will fall in January. Holi will take place on Wednesday, March 8th, and Ram Navami on Thursday, the 30th.

Both Mahavir Jayanti and Good Friday will coincide within the same week, on Tuesday the 4th, and Friday the 7th of April, respectively. Id-ul-Fitr will fall on Saturday, the 22nd of that same month. The celebration of Buddha Purnima has a fixed date of May 5th.

June will mark the observance of Bakrid/Id-ul-Zuha on Thursday, the 29th, while Muharram takes place on July 29th. August is host to Independence Day, falling on Tuesday the 15th; September has Janmashtami (Vaishnva) on Thursday, the 7th and Milad-un-Nabi or Id-e-Milad (Birthday of Prophet Mohammad) set for Thursday, the 28th of that same month.

In October, Dussehra is on Tuesday, the 24th; and Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday falls on Monday, the 2nd. Celebrated during November will be Diwali and Guru Nanak’s Birthday on Sunday, the 12th and Monday, the 27th respectively, while December closes out with Christmas Day on Monday, the 25th.

List of Restricted Holidays 2023 in Central Govt
