What is Permit?
- Any vehicle which is used for carrying goods or passengers for Commercial purpose requires a permit from State Government under the provisions of Motor Vehicles Act 1988.

- Stage carriage permit
- Contract carriage permit

- Private service vehicle permit
- Educational service vehicle permit
How to get Permit?
- Any vehicle which is used for carrying goods or passengers for Commercial purpose requires a permit from State Government under the provisions of Motor Vehicles Act 1988.
- Maxi cab permits are issued to the vehicles for carrying passengers to various parts of the city or within the State on a fixed route and as per the fare fixed by the State Transport Authority / Regional Transport Authority. The total seating capacity of such vehicles should not exceed more than 12 persons excluding drivers.
- Private Service Vehicle Permits are issued to Companies that operate the vehicle for their own use.
Educational Institution Bus Permit. - The vehicles of Educational Institution registered are given permission to carry their students or staff. For identification, these vehicles are painted in golden yellow color.
- Passenger vehicle permit gets with the following form.
- Application in Form-CCPA.
- Apply for a Goods Carriage permit with the following form.
- Application in Form-GCPA.
- Proof of Address.
How to get a Temporary Permit?
- The owner of the Transport vehicle submitted the following documents:
- Application in Form-PTA/PSPLA
- Registration Certificate.
- Insurance Certificate.
- Primary Permit.
- Valid Tax.
- Emission test certificate.
- The Amount of Fees payable.150/- and Service Charge Rs.50/- and Total Fees Rs.200/-.
- To apply Secretary / Regional Transport Authority (S/sta for STA Primary).
How to get Goods Permit?
- A vehicle used for the carriage of goods requires a permit from the transport licensing authority. The owner of the vehicle can apply for a Goods Carriage permit with the following documents to be submitted.
- Application in Form-GCPA.
- Proof of Address.
- Registration Certificate.
- Insurance Certificate.
- Passport size photo-2.
- Pollution under control certificate.
- Valid tax.
- The Amount of Fees payable.
- Permit Fees Rs.1,350/-.
- Service Charge Rs.100/-.
- Total Fees Rs.1,450/-.
How to get a National Permit?
- A National Permit is given when a vehicle operator wants to pay for his vehicle all over India.
- The Regional Transport Officer is empowered to issue a national permit.
- The owner of the Vehicle can apply for National Permit.
The following documents to be submitted.
- Proof of Address.
- Registration Certificate.
- Insurance Certificate.
- Passport size photo-2.
- Pollution under control certificate.
- Valid tax.+
The Amount of Fees payable.
- Rs.1,500/-.
- Rs.1000/-(Authorization Fee).
- Service Charge Rs.200/-.
- Rs.16500/- paid by SBI Challan or net banking.
To apply Secretary / Regional Transport Authority.
Procedure for Renewal of Permit?
- The owner of the vehicle applies the application 15 days before the expiry of the permit.
